Stumps - Killing them off

I have just cut down a Portuguese Laurel Hedge and have stumps of about 10 inches in diameter cut level with the ground.

I am going to have a shed erected over them so I really dont want them growing back.

I am broke at the moment and cant afford to buy Tree Stump Killer but I do have Roundup - the normal one - concentrate. Would it work if I drilled holes in the stumps and poured in neat Roundup ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Please don't pour bleach into your garden. if you have the energy dig them out.
