Skylux EL Refractor Telescope on sale sunday 28th june in LIDL stores shown in red on the bottom of the page, it's a good deal for anyone starting out in astronomy. Lowered from 79.99 to 39.99, definitely a bargain.

Picked one up in Omni. There was a whole pallet still there. Will hook and report back in quality. Certainly looks decent for €40

I have the bresser skylux NG and have been using it for the last year and it's great. I have a video control set-up on it and it does the job very well. Great starter scope for sure.

Says on the flyer coolock but don't know about stocks.

I gave mine a run last night, took some time and trial and error to get anything in focus. Finally was able to zoom into some leaves in the distance. Got some good views of the moon last night. Took the attached just by pointing my phone at the lens. Pretty impressed so far.

The planets will look like slightly brighter stars.

To view them decently, you'll need a large aperature Dobsonian type rig.

    Or build your own: http://infinigeek.com/40-epic-homemade-telescopes-how-to-make-guides/

I had a similar scope a while ago - I got so see Saturns rings with it - and saw it moons. No detail though, just like a tiny flat all white paper cutout silhouette. Great to see though. Every other planet you could make out it had colour, but nothing else really. Good for moon.
