Confused About Jobseekers Benefit

    Hi All

At the moment I'm not eligible for JSA but can someone tell me if and when I can claim JSB? I lost my job last year and was told at the time I couldn't get this as they were still working through claims from 2yrs previously, or something along those lines! Here is my timeline of employment, all of which paying tax and PRSI:

    2011 - 01/12/2014: Unemployed

02/12/2014 - 25/05/2014: Full time employed(let go with letter from employers to confirm this)

07/07/2014 - 01/08/2014: Employed part time, 3hrs per day, 5 days a week(let go with letter confirming this)

Note: on 29/06/2015 I will start 5 weeks work part time, 3hrs per day, 5 days a week. This will finish on 07/08/2015.

    Any advice much appreciated!

The qualifying year for JSB claims made now is 2013 ie you need to have 13 paid stamps in 2013.You need to contact the dept and get a record of how many stamps you have.
There is a online form but I cant find the link at the minute

You havnt paid anything like enough PRSI to get JSB. Why can't you claim JSA?

Never ever work a couple of hours over 5 days - you will get nothing. See if you can consolidate your hours into 3 days and claim casual JA for the other days

    How old are you?
