I have a VW T4 Syncro diff that is whining.

Does anybody if there's somebody who does repairs/reconditioning for differentials in Ireland?

If your any way technically minded you could pull the duff out, measure and order the bearings and drop the lot into an engineering workshop.
I think an engineering shop is what you looking for. Where are ya based?

In Wex. Not sure what I need in fairness as it's currently with a mechanic who has said he doesn't have the tools to do a reconditioning of the diff so I suspect that you are correct & I need somebody who specialises in reconditioning diffs.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated. Have searched high and low in Ireland for somebody who could recondition these diffs. Found a potential place in Dublin but they don't respond to email for phone calls.

I don't suppose you or anyone have a rough idea of the price of reconditioning a differential? They're closed for the next couple of weeks so I don't expect a response from them too soon.

Denbys in Ferns will probably do it.

I got mine done and it cost about €600 but it was in bad shape from having never had the oil in it changed. Try David Byrnes in Ballinaboola in Wexford. Really sound guy.
