    Hey,

Can anyone recommend any shops or stores in Dublin city centre that might have a cheapish ring that might do for a proposal?

    Thanks

Marks and Spencers or zara or river island for the token rings that look like real rings - do NOT buy one that has a fake diamond bigger that'll what you can afford in the real one.

Or Claires accessories for a fun toy type ring for a bit of craic

Me personally I think the Claires is more memorable

I got my token ring in Swarovski. Easy shop for a man to navigate too.

Expensive for a token ring though??

    Marks and Spencers approx €15

    How much in swarovski?

Fair point. I think it was up near 90 blips. She gets a fair bit of use out of it though.

    Well that's good :-)

But imagine if the ring budget is 2k. You've used almost 5% of the budget on a token ring.

Not a million miles away on money. We also went to Antwerp so there was a fair bit of 'non essential spending' I suppose. 100% of budget used.... and luckily not a penny more.

Thank you all very much for your suggestions.

Yes, mustn't buy something too fancy that makes a real ring later on look very disappointing! Will be a separate days work figuring out how much is reasonable to spend on that....

Would she be into charms at all? My (now!) fiancé proposed with an engagement charm on a bracelet & because he was afraid I wouldn't like the ring he picked out.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I realise how stupid this sounds, but do people generally propose with just the ring, or is the whole opening the box containing the ring the done thing? Obviously in this case it's just a cheap ring, so the whole 'reveal' of opening a jewellers box seems unnecessary.....

    Grateful for any comments!

    Thanks a mill

Ps, asking the question as, due to the nature of mens fashion these days, and the time of year, it would be difficult to conceal a jewellers ring box whereas a ring is obviously very easy to have on my person

I went this way, so thanks for the advice. However, in the unlikely event that anyone in my shoes should stumble across this, I feel like I should point out that the swarovski people said you can't even wash your hands with one of their rings on.... Which is totally impractical in my mind. Also, post any proposal (assuming it's accepted), you not only have to explain that it's just a token ring, but also that the person cannot even wash their hands with it on - which I think makes it sound even cheaper and nastier that it is!

If you're reading this seanie h, I hope you don't take this as criticism. I am grateful for the advice and it meant I got what I was looking for with no hassle whatsoever
