    Can anyone clarify something for me Please :

    We receive our payslip a week in advance so week#3 below is for next Friday into my bank account.

    Started work as a TCO and my pay is all-over-the-place in so far as
    ~ week#1 1week pay & 1week arrears (eventhough informed work a week get paid the following. Anywhoo:
    Personal Pension (that I didn't agree to) -> 12.51
    Lump Sum Pension (that I didn't agree to) -> 24.54
    PRD (that I didn't agree to) -> 45.75
    PRSI -> 32.72
    USC -> 28.63

    Total Deductions 144.15

    ~ week#2
    Personal Pension (that I didn't agree to) -> 12.27 <- not incl.
    Lump Sum Pension (that I didn't agree to) -> 12.27 (1/2 prev which was for 2wks)
    PRD (that I didn't agree to) -> 4.85
    PRSI -> 16.36 (1/2 prev which was for 2wks)
    USC -> 14.32 (1/2 prev which was for 2wks)

    Total Deductions €47.80

    ~ week#3
    Personal Pension (that I didn't agree to) -> 12.27 <- not incl.
    Lump Sum Pension (that I didn't agree to) -> 12.27 (1/2 prev which was for 2wks)
    PRD (that I didn't agree to) -> 4.85
    PRSI -> 16.36 (1/2 prev which was for 2wks)
    USC -> 14.31 (1/2 prev which was for 2wks)
    PAYE: -> 44.21

    Total Deductions €92.00

    Just not settled at all. I was in fact making more working in the Hospitality Sector before I took this job in the Civil Service.

    Can anyone shed any light? This just doesn't sit right with me! I'll phone the relevant dept next-week but I'd like some info here first if you can help.

    I know the PensionRelatedDeduction can be claimed back once I finish if I know I won't be taking on another job in the Public Sector.

    Many Thanks,
    kerry4sam

    Somewhere on your payslip it will say something like Basis/Tax Basis/Tax USC and you will have a letter beside or under it; either
    N or Cumul for normal (cumulative)
    W for Week 1
    E or Emer for emergency

    What does yours say?

    Did you ask the Salaries Dept to explain the above?

    EDIT. I see you are contacting them next week. As Chickelicken has advised, be sure to check out your tax basis. Did you submit a P45?

    As for claiming the PRD, is this something new? Has not been refundable previously iirc.

    ^^^ Thanks for your replies & linkie.

    They have my p45 and I even contacted local Revenue office to inform of new employer.

    Cumulative Tax Basis.
    Not Emergency Tax on any week.

    Thanks,

    The PAYE is something to check. Your payroll dept can't really tell you why this is so much higher. They can only apply what Revenue send them but they don't know what makes this up.

    If you are cumulative and the figures you give would be about 400 gross a week then there's something a little out with your credits to pay 44 tax.

    What does it say under tax credits? Have you got a new tax credit cert recently?

    Did you have taxable social welfare this year?

    Or you got paid by both jobs in the same tax period and both used your tax credits in that period so there was a previous underpayment which was clawed back on cumulative.

    The only week you seem to have paid PAYE is week three, is that correct?

    Yes only week PAYE is week#3. Are the figures for week#3 what I am likely to be looking at from now ? That can't be right though, 92Euros in tax as a TCO.

    Just pulled out my most recent Amended Tax Credit Cert 2015. That'll teach me!

    Thanks guys,

    Impossible to say if that's what you will be paying in paye. It depends on your tax credits.

    Think so. What I thought was the case another thought so today too.

    For 3-weeks no PAYE was taken. First with the arrears (2-weeks wage) and again the following week -> weeks #1 & #2 above.

    Two of the lads at work had a look today & I'm to contact Revenue next week if not better than currently looking. I saw today that next week it will be 116.58 in deductions with PAYE being 68.78 so my EO said he'd have a look at see what he can find out.

    Thinking next Friday it will be more reasonable looking when at all PAYE is taken for the 3-weeks when it wasn't. Hope so anyways, if not a call to revenue is on the cards.

    Thanks Again ,

    Hi all. Hope this is the right place to post this query as its TCO payslip related...

    anyway just wondering what the "2-3% Deduction from G" (think it says Gross Pay) is on my paysilp.
    Its about €12 every week.

    I cant seem to get an answer from salaries department so hopefully someone can enlighten me on here.
