Sky plus Hd

Hi I had a sky + box and recently got a Sky +HD box from friend. I have it wired up and its working fine. My problem is I cant tape with it. I was told I will need to ring sky to change settings, but I was wondering could anyone sort it out for me.

If it's one of the newer type, with wifi, go to Sky1 106, and you can pair your card over the net.

Connect it to Broadband over wifi if it has a built in connector or by ethernet if not. Press Services, 0, 0, 1, then select. Select New Install, then press select twice, then you should see Callback In Progress, this will pair the card.

If not, go to www.sky.com/wrongcard and you can pair it there by signing into your Sky ID.

Failing all that, call Sky and they can do it over the phone.

Thanks a lot Avata, I had to ring Sky anyway as they had to change bar code on box as it was more than 4 years old. I got it sorted but I have another problem now. I taped the first thing on it this evening but while it was recording it would not allow me to watch any other channel. No signal was coming up The min the recording finished , all channels came back on line again

Have you got 2 cables connected from the satellite dish? Press services, 0, 4. Both the input 1 lock indicator and input 2 lock indicator should be showing as locked.

Hi yes imput 2 is showing as not locked and imput 1 is showing as ok. I tried to scroll down to change imput 2 but I am not allowed

Are both cables screwed in tightly at the back of the box? The reason you can't change anything there is it is just showing the connection. Not locked means there is no satellite signal going through the second cable.

It might also be in single feed mode.

If its in single feed mode input 2 lock indicator would be blank rather than saying not locked.

Tv guy came out to it again today and there was no signal coming true the cable. He had connected them wrong when he replaced the arm of the satellite dish last week. Thanks for all the help. Its sorted now thank god. Hope it will stay that way.
