Is it possible to apply for a sole mortgage if you are married ? If so is the application credit assessed as joint with one income or how would it work ?

Not normally if it is for a family home, most if not all banks have a policy that family home mortgages have to be in both names if married. Applications for a buy to let property can be in a sole name.

If you are married and if the mortgage is for a family home the mortgage must be in joint names. If it's a buy to let then the property and mortgage can be in a sole name.
