    hi all

hopefully this is the right place,

my wife and i are considering potentially leaving Dublin and building a house beside her parents. They are on a 7 acre site so there is plenty of space for us to build without being on top of them.

i realise its a how long is a piece of string question but is there any way of garnering some kind of estimate as to what it would cost us all in to build a house there.

Circa 2,500 sq feet, finished well, some landscaping etc.

Have a good read around but budget 1500 a sqm...excl fees.

And if your heading south to Wicklow...good luck!

Make sure you meet the local needs assessment criteria before spending too much.

Build cost budget of €1500 per sq. m and maybe more for bespoke items such as tilt and turn doors, granite work tops etc

You will have professional fees which will include planning, and assigned certified roles. I wouldn't expect change from 10k for these depending on the complexity of the project and the services provided by them.

Get your drawings done and employ a QS to budget costings it will give you an accurate idea and something to go on.
