Another Handicap Question

    Just wondering how long it usually takes for golf net.ie to get updated from away results. Played two away comps, last weekend and the Saturday beforehand and neither are showing up on the system.

    Also, I read summer that if you shoot six scores in the buffer zone is close succession that you are liable for a cut. Can anyone please clarify this one for me.

    With regards to away scores our h/cap secretary hits the Internet connect button every time he's in the club so the away scores are downloaded almost immediately.
    As for your second query, the process is called the exceptional score reduction, ESR, I haven't time to explain it now but Google it to get the explanation.
    Ask your h/cap secretary about the away scores.

    Golfnet is a shambles at the moment, lots of bugs and scores going missing.
    You don't get cut for hitting your buffer, you just avoid getting .1, sounds like someone was pulling your leg.

    It will come up on golfnet whenever the club you played in updates it. Delays are almost always down to the club.

    No cut for scores in the buffer zone no matter how many you have in a row. It's two scores 4 or more better than CSS.

    Table below.


    Number of Qualifying Scores in the Sequence
    Average of the two low Qualifying Scores Nett Differentials 4 or less 5 to 9 10 or more
    -4.0 to -5.0 1 stroke 0.5 stroke No Change
    -5.5 to -9.5 2 strokes 1 stroke 0.5 stroke
    -10 or better 3 strokes 2 strokes 2 strokes
