Benekov Wood Pellet Boiler - Thermostat Problems - HELP?

    Hi All,

I am not a plumber, but am looking for help on finding an alternative or replacement for the current thermostat. The installers have proved pretty useless. So am looking for advice.

The installed thermostat is [UV] HP 150. It seems a common enough thermostat, but simply is unfit for the job, its over-complicated and is impossible to use in any way as a normal thermostat. It effectively simply acts as on on/off switch.

We were told this was the ONLY thermostat that could be used, but we have since found many users have replaced them. Unfortunately we don't know of anyone ourselves who has changed the thermostat.

Does anyone know of a decent cheap alternative that actually works? It will be connecting to a Benekov 15 pellet burner/boiler. But essentially any thermostat of the correct amperage/voltage should work?

Any help would be much appreciated as we have been stuck with this problem for some time and it is getting worse.

    Regards - S

Looking at the link it seems the stat is a battery stat requiring a feed and switch wire. There are plenty of alternatives. A standard cheap stat will work but will not be programmable. What are you looking to do?

    Hi P,

Really what we are looking for is a simple thermostat that works.

The system was installed by PES

They told us that only this thermostat would work on the boiler. However, it has never worked and PES had major problems getting it to even link to the boiler, added to which the stat has never worked as advertised. The stat that's fitted is over-complicated, not well built and seems altogether useless.

We need a replacement which does what it says on the box. We are in the Midlands and any recommendations on a reliable DECENT person/company who could fit a thermostat would be greatly welcome.

    Regards - S
