Do you have a second job?

Do you have a secondary source of income? If so, what is it and why did you choose it?

I'm weighing up options myself and want to see others perspectives. Do you hope your secondary income will become your primary income?

The dole is my primary income and i usually work 3-4 days a week on the side to 'top it up'.

I work on the side as a male escort. Having sex costs extra.

I earn approximately... 0€ a month from it.

I'd quite like a first job, never mind a second one!

Why not work full time and 'top it up' even more?

I give maths grinds sometimes, I wouldn't really call it a second job.

I have 3 jobs. One as a contractor doing 40 hours a week. Another as a contractor working flexible hours e.g. Evenings and weekends. One other one that doesn't pay me an hourly rate or a salary, my pay is based on winning new customers for our service. (Technical Pre-Sales and Evangelist)

I don't really have time off and I'll likely die of a heart attack before I get the chance to enjoy the money I'm making.

In the US. Not in Ireland.

18 years ago I had 3 jobs, 2 of them were part time and the other was a business.. what ended up happening was I dumped the money from the 2 part time jobs into the business to try and keep it afloat...

after 2 years of this malarkey, it couldn't continue as I was burning the candle at both ends in a futile attempt to try and keep ahead of the business bills..

In the end I quit all 3, and got a job where I had to do little or no work except drive around the country, and I got paid a heap of money for it.

Moral of the story: only take on what you can manage

Not to confuse the taxman with a second job, this is a "side job"
