Some effort , he looked shattered at the end. Going back to RAAM in 2016 apparently .

Totally agree, phenomenal effort...can't believe he can achieve this level of performance at 56 years old.....
inspiration to us all to keep cycling,
age needn't be a barrier to achieving goals...

I didn't now abou this til Raidió na Gaeltachta reported in it. I can't imagine the mental fortitude required to achieve this.

Our group was heading north from Mizen last Friday night/Saturday morning and were chatting about where we might meet Joe on his way down, the consensus was somewhere between Nenagh and Limerick, as it turned out we met him almost exactly on the Cork/Limerick border, even in the dark you could see he was flying.

He came back up in almost exactly the same time as we did, there were 4 of us and we had 2 more strong lads join us in Athlone to share the load, it's unreal what he did.

@nilhg. Did you do mizen to malin non-stop then?
Look forward to reading an account on your training log thread (one of my favourite threads - inspirational from your first year)ðŸ˜

Joe Barr! Outstanding achievement - another planet.
(What nilhg does seems more attainable for mere mortals)

Yep, non stop, tough but definitely attainable for us mere mortals.

The training log is resting this year but I did a short report on m2m in the tellus about your cycle today thread
