Minimum arrival time to catch a flight DUB T1

Hi, I will be catching a flight at 18:10 from Terminal one, but don't think that I will be able to get to short term parking C until 5PM. Allowing me 40 mins to get to the gate before its closed.... is this too tight, doable in ye're opinion?

    Cheers

Do you have to check a bag? Can you check in and print your boarding pass before hand?

If you purchase a fast track pass for security (about €5) and don't have to check in/check a bag you could easily make it.

If you have to check in or check a bag it can add on a variable amount of time to the processes. If you are unlucky with the queues you could be cutting it tight.

Will you already be checked in? You could spend €5.99 on the DAA fast track and fly through security. Then you should be ok IMHO.

Depends partially on the flight too. End of the 100 gates is a decent 10 minute jog from security.

D'ont forget that the departure time is when the aircraft taxies so you need to be at the gate at least 30 mins beforehand.

I think this is factored in. Airport at 5pm, flight at 6:10pm, OP said they have 40mins so boarded at 5:40. 30mins before departure :)

Carpark to terminal to security to gate in 40 mins is doable but very tight.
Assuming online check in and hand baggage only:
    Carpark to security...5 mins
    Security queue 10-15 mins
    Security to gate 5-20 mins

It depends on which airline you are flying with as well, BA / Turkish / Air Canada flights have always been from one of the nearer gates in my experience.
I take a 7 am BA flight regularly, I get to the car park around 6am, and have always found myself at the gate way too early. So at that time of day and with fast track you should have no issues.

RyanAir to LPL. So could be at the end off the airport!

Not sure where to post this but, I have just returned from a great holiday in Malta. Got a good quote from hotel for same time next year and want to mahe a deposit for it. Thing is can I take a chance that Ryanair will still be flying Dubli-Malta at same date time etc next year, or how soon can you book a flight with Ryanair?

Airlines usually confirm their Summer Schedule in or around Sep/Oct of the previous year.

Friend of a friend thought that the other day. Regular FR flyer. Arrived very early at DUB, didn't bother to look at screens and went straight down to 100 gates to have a leisurely something to eat. Afterwards, discovered that his flight was going from a 200 gate and had to walk back down all the way, ROFL. I think it was an Edinburgh flight, though.

Just on the matter of the screens. I've noticed that the screens located just at the back of Security at T1 often don't show the Gate nos of flights until an hour before the flight but the ones further down the corridor (and the ones towards the 300 gates) have them displayed earlier. The last few busy weeks this has resulted in pax blocking the passage at the security area as they stand and wait. I suppose there must be a reason for this but damned if I can guess it.

A small number of flights depart at 200 gates, particularly early morning during the summer.

Yes gates can change so 1 hour before departure is adequate considering most aircraft won't be on the ground when it's assigned. The other screens don show it but of course will not be confirmed until 60 minutes.

In reality a Ryanair flight often doesn't arrive until about 20-25 minutes before departure time and normally people are boarding until the last minute. So while I wouldn't rely on the gate staying open there is a bit of padding there alright.

I've caught a morning flight and cut it very close. Short term car park to gate in about 20 mins. One of the last on the plane mind you but it's doable. Ryanair aswell by the way.

    Ryanair often use gate 220.
