Will my BMW sell?

I'm trying to sell a 00 BMW 5 series which is taxed until the end of the month. I'm wondering if it is likely to sell. The other option is to scrap it as we've already imported our (new to us) car from the UK. It seems crazy to scrap it though as it is a great car - just needs a few things done to get its NCT. What do you think? Should we scrap it or keep the add up on done deal?

What spec is it? Link to the ad? If it's higher spec then there's a reasonable chance of selling. If it's a bog standard pre-facelift 2.0 520i SE with non-leather seats then it's probably not worth a whole lot. If it's a higher spec 523 or 528 in good condition then there's a better chance, and if it's a late 2000 (post September I think) then it'll be more appealing to a few folks. Often times these are worth more in parts than whole.

E39's that are low spec are not too desirable unless it's a manual, then it'd probably be snapped up as a drifter. If it's a Sport you have a very high chance of it selling or like Trojan mentioned, a 523/528 if it's a prefacelift or a 525/530 if it's a post facelift.

thsnks for that. It does have leather seats and has the m on the steering wheel which means Sport I think! Here's the link to the add. http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/bmw-520i-sports-motion/9680115

With the effort made in your ad it won't sell, needs more photos and a better write up.

Take more photos, write your ad better. Mention service history, any recent work done, number of owners. Say what it needs for the NCT, or better yet NCT it yourself!

The mileage will turn a lot of people off but they are a pretty robust car so someone will probably buy it if it's NCT'd.

My advice would be to replace this headlights too with a set of either real Angel Eyes or a set from the pre facelift car, you'd be able to pick up a set handy enough in a breakers I'd say.

What does it need for the nct?

An O2 sensor is the main thing it needs.

needs more pics . looks nice enough and a rare enough colour . as said the headlights for me hurt it . would be better off with the standard headlights . facelift would be nice but in reality you wouldnt get your money back on them
