Unsure if this is the right place sorry!

I am just wondering why do I very rarely see wooden framed homes? I am thinking more American style construction.

By American style do you mean 'log style' or 'American features'?

Google : doe building regs ; cork rural housing guidlines

I can think of several housing estates in Waterford that are wood frame/ block outer leaf or other variations of wood frame.

Ah I was thinking more wooden framed houses like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/50/Wood-framed_house.jpg
Without the use of blocks, instead using say a cement cladding for the exterior. Obviously with all the filling between I just see so many cinder block houses that I always wondered if many have it.

Thats a pretty much standard timberframe construction.

The reason you dont see much cement board cladding is for various reasons.
Costs of material, insurance understanding of the product, and general traditional use of blockwork here.

there are some builds though which are timber frame with cement board.
Thsi would be common enough on construction of extension above existing buildings which couldnt take a heavy weight construction type.
