Spokes popped out

Just got home to find two spokes out, and 3-4 others very loose.

It'd a hybrid which I commute daily on. Mostly on bike path but includes some minor hopping of gutters or bumps.

Last service in March told LBS some spokes were loose which they fixed bit this time they've popped out.

I wouldn't expect spokes doing this to be a normal thing, is it manufacturers defect, bumpy riding style or bad wheels?

I used to cycle a Giant Escape hybrid and the spokes in the rear wheel were always popping out. I used to cycle with 3 popped spokes before I ended up getting them replaced. I thought because I'm around the 100kg mark that it was putting added pressure on the rear wheel. The guy who used to service my bike said that the spokes weren't equally tensioned, meaning some spokes were loose and some were too tight. I got a spokes clamp to mess around with them but I could never get it right. I'm not sure if the service guy was spinning me a yarn!

I now cycle a Lapierre Cross 300 hybrid and I've had no issues with spokes which leads me to believe that there was a fault with the previous bikes wheel.

How old are the wheels , did the spokes snap off at the nipples or did the become undone ( can you still see the thread at the end ) .
They might need to be correctly tensioned if they just became undone , but if they have snapped its probably time to look at new wheels .
I had issues with a wheel before and the bike shop I brought it to failed 3 times to get it right , I brought it to a shop which was recommended to me for wheel repairs and I didn't have any issues with it since .

I bought the bike in Jul 2014. Had the first service after 6 weeks, then another in March after cycling to work daily, incl through winter/wet/etc.

Service in March was more than I would expect: bottom bracket replaced, new pedals, one cable replaced - over 1 hundred euro after 8 months cycling.

I brought to LBS this morning. Just said it was buckled and would cost 12 EURo to repair. Didn't really discuss any potential of manufacturer defect or riding style.

this is the bike: Giant Escape 2014

unless you were putting in thousands of km, a BB replacement should have been handled as a warranty issue?

really? I'm getting mine replaced after about 6 weeks. Did maybe 1500km on the new bike on tour.

why? 1500km/6 weeks is rediculously low return on a new BB

Bearings are shot they tell me, small bit of play in the cranks although I don't feel it, mechanic thinks I might have dried it out using this degreaser/lube 4-in-1. I'm going to check with the manufacturer to see if replacement is covered as people seem to think that that's too quickly for it to go.

I feel your pain OP this has been a constant problem for me.

I bought a Giant Defy 3 and after a little while the spokes started popping out and breaking. I went to a couple of different bike shops who fixed the spokes but it kept happening. Eventually I was told I would need a new wheel built so I went for that.

600 or so km later a spoke broke on the new wheel so I brought it back to the guys that rebuilt it and they fixed it last week. 60km later I was cycling home last night and two spokes broke :(

It is completely infuriating to the point where I am almost ready to give up on the bike.

Stock wheelset's that come on relativley low end bikes tend to be utter poo!

The wheels sets that come on giant bikes are sub standard to say the least, even on the likes of the tcr advanced range too.

Really don't think that having to replace a bottom bracket after nearly a year of daily use is unreasonable at all .... wet, dirty and particularly salted roads play havoc with consumable parts!
