    Hi all,

I am currently a college student 21 using my back to education to pay my rent, the issue I have and is a big one. I'm am currently in full time work experience from the college unpaid until the end of December.

I left my old accommodation as the landlord was a complete a**hole, and am sharing elsewhere, my BTEA is still at my old address cause the new landlord wants nothing to do with social welfare.

I have 3 repeat exams in August, if I fail even one my BETA will stop and I will be back on the dole, I'm pretty sure I will pass but I am worried IF I don't what will happen. I am entitled to rent allowance but I am looking the past 4 years and have came up with nowhere.

The new landlord doesn't need to have anything to do with BTEA, you are fully within your rights to change your address once you have a bill or letter to prove you reside there (must be in your name). Aside from that, you changing your address has nothing to do with your new landlord and it is more likely that you will be cut off unexpectedly when post requiring information or your presence at your local SW office shows up at your old address and you never get it.

You need to change your address ASAP. If you fail any of them, you can apply to resit them at the next repeat exams and continue to claim the payment you were in receipt of before you applied for BTEA. Again, this has nothing to do with your landlord!! Getting cut off because you missed a letter or appointment in the post is a much, much bigger concern than what-ifs concerning your exams.

Thanks, I am aware of that.
