    17.5 permanent subject to funding position in community work, told today that I am being reduced to half that due to funding restraints.. Other employees not affected? one being an administrator, one being a community worker with different title, one being full time co-ordinator, all funded by TUSLA. Any advice greatly appreciated, been in the position for 9 years.

    I guess their other option is to make you redundant, given that the job as it is now will no longer exist.

    You could also potentially try a legal fight if you think that the process used to choose which position was changed due to funding cuts was unfair. But this could be time-consuming, cost a lot for lawyers, and potentially lose you a lot of friends in the community work sector. And it could be hard to prove if the funding cut was based on a specific reduction to the service that you're employed to provide.

    Thanks for reply, my manager is a particularly difficult individual, and I know the cut is more to do with her issues with me than the funding being cut. To be honest all staff are looking elsewhere as the workplace is toxic and has been for some time. I also really want out, but am obviously worried about getting another job. I probably could go unfair or constructive dismissal, or even bullying route, I also could whistle blow on questionable accounting and work practices, but at this stage I just want out... Redundancy sounds good, but do I broach this, or wait for employer to, and who pays redundancy, the company or government?
