    Q. I’m on social welfare/the old age pension/low income — are there any exemptions or reductions for me?

    A. No. The only assistance available is for those who receive the Household Benefits Package — mainly the over-70s, people on Disability Allowance and some carers — which contributes towards electricity/gas bills and the TV licence. From next January, a water support payment will be included in the package. It’s worth €100 a year — just less than the amount taken out of the package when the telephone allowance was discontinued last January.

    Not according to this.

Only is so far as it forms part of the Household package, which is mostly over 70s.

    I'm 71 but don't get it unfortunately.:(

Is this what you are looking for?

    Water Conservation Grant

Every household that registers with Irish Water by 30 June 2015 will be eligible for an annual Water Conservation Grant, even if the household has its own private water supply and wastewater services. This grant will be paid by the Department of Social Protection (DSP) from September 2015. It replaces the Water Support Payment and tax relief that were previously announced, and is available to all households in respect of their principal private dwellings (not second homes). You can use it as you choose, for example, towards installing a conservation system, maintaining your well or de-sludging your septic tank.
Full details about the grant will be announced in due course. There is no need to contact the DSP now as it will communicate from July 2015 onwards with households that are registered with Irish Water, inviting them to apply for the Water Conservation Grant (starting in late August) and asking for certain information.

    8. What about the earlier tax & social welfare measures announced in Budget 2015?

The Water Conservation Grant replaces the tax rebate and social protection measures previously announced, as it is a more straightforward means of addressing water issues for all households on equal terms and will reduce households' outlay on water services both now and in the future.

Do you mind me asking why you don't get HBP?
