Wild Atlantic Banger Rally '15

I was looking to organise a banger rally (not a race) up the Atlantic way. I notice there's some stag event company was looking to do one but they are going to charge 400 for entry alone with no accommodation included and haven't seemed to fix a date yet. So my idea was to bypass that event and organise something private (avoid setting up company/charity) with people that are interested. Roadworthy cars under 400e customised/painted. 20 or 30 cars either camping or staying in hotels/partying over a bank holiday weekend with an element of fundraising involved. Ideally have a good group involved in organising so everyone is on board rather than just sell tickets to pre arranged event. No profit collected just shared costs of the event itself Any additional ideas to add or any interest in joining?

I like the idea of a bit of a road trip in a banger. No interest in having a charity angle or fundraising of any description. Would rather put up a few quid myself to cover any costs.

I'd be the same now to be honest. It seems the done thing but could cause issues it was being run privately.
