Advice on 3 cars please!

    Id love some advice on the following 3 cars - I have maximum 7k to spend and ideally nothing below an '07. Petrol will do as do a lot of city driving, short journeys and stopping & starting.

    - BMW 1 Series
    - Audi A3
    - Honda Civic

    Swaying towards Civic or A3 as reading past posts 1 series will cost more for repairs in the long run? Is there anything else I should be looking out for?

    Also want to offload my 13yr old Ford Focus with 148km on the clock- any ideas what I could possibly get? Full Service history and timing belt done in February. No hassle at all other than that.

    Does the Focus have valid nct? I reckon you'd get about a grand. Hatchback or saloon? Hatchback will be easier to sell.

    I'd go for a Civic out of your 3. 1 series is cramped and overpriced. A3 petrols are fairly thirsty. Civic you have a good choice of petrols and they will be reliable and even a 8 year old Civic still looks good imo.

    Focus is NCT'd until Jan 2016 & Hatchback

    Yes really like the look of Civics so am keeping my eyes peeled for 07's/08's around :)

    Not meaning to hijack the thread, but how economical would you say an 05 audi A4 diesel with 160,000 miles would be? 50mpg?
