Options if using cooling-off period?

Eircom phone+broadband contract expired, I switched to an 18 month Vodafone similar phone+broadband package, and am not entirely happy with the service (several disconnects in the few days it's been up).

I have about 48 hours left of the 14 day cooling off period to cancel. If I use the option and get out of the Vodafone contract can I get into a rolling monthly contract with someone? I really don't want lock-in right now given the poor quality of service.

    Any suggestions?

Any new sign up other than magnet will incur a 12-18 month contract. Thats what pays for the line transfer. Magnet you pay a setup fee (and usually a worse tariff) in stead.

If you went from stable eircom to unstable vodafone without any wiring change (upgrade to fibre bb for example, or moving the modem) then the chances are quite hight that your port profile was increased to the lines maximum when setup with vodafone. If they scale it back to the rate eircom had it at it should re-stabilize the line. This should be only be a 5 minute call to their support team to have it sorted.

Magnet are atrocious though so be cautious with them.
