What if the picture freezes and overtaking driver assumes coast is clear, will he get a few free Galaxy S phones for his trouble?

Ya. Great idea in theory but even assuming that it could be designed to prevent a freeze frame senario, I still see it as transferring some possible liability onto the lorry and so it will never be a runner unless it was made compulsory.

Well if the picture freeze's somehow, it'll be quite obvious to the view because the scenery won't be changing...

People have driven through the shopping center doors and sued the GPS navigation company for it in the past.
You'd be surprised how stupid some drivers can be sometimes.

Assumed it was a publicity stunt and the only truck with it fitted wouldn't see much actual road use.

Can't see why the likes of Sentinel (From the Dakar Rally etc) or something similar isn't in use commercially:

People have followed GPS to the wrong country and even got ferries or drive thousands of km into a desert when heading for a coastal city! They just blindly follow the screen.

Truck won't work unless they somehow managed to get it to the phone screen with an augmented reality app so the driver can keep texting and see if it's clear.

No doubt they could also play ads while you are stuck in traffic.

I would guess if that was done here drivers would drive through the truck as the road is clear right in front of them so they would think.

    Well obviously....

I meant if it actually took off.

Samsung plastered all over sort of gave it away as advertising
