Do you remember the first time you saw Riverdance and your reaction to it? I was working in the bush in Africa, no TV, telephone, Internet etc got back to the city about 6 weeks after the Eurovision and some of the Irish lads were talking about an interval act during the Eurovision, they had a video of it. Wasn't over excited at the thoughts of watching an interval act so didn't get around to it for a few days, hair stood on the back of my neck. How about you?

Saw the broadcast and thought it was pretty damn good.

But boy, did it get old quick.

Especially when they started playing it in night clubs and a bunch of drunken idiots all thought they could do the dance

    *cringe*

Seen it on Eurovision as a nipper. I love horror films so the creepy people in the black robes at the start caught my attention. Thought it was brilliant.

I'll always remember where I was when I first saw it.

    In the house. Watching telly.

I remember leaving the room because I thought it was boring.

Watched a couple of minutes of it on the night: got bored and made coffee. Never saw it since.

My reaction was that I wanted to bang each and every one of the female dancers :o

Saw it on the eurovision and was struck by how it unwittingly echoed the great Nazi gatherings before WW2.

'Hup ya boy ya', probably from Marty Whelan after watching it on telly.

His legs flail about as if independent from his body!

I actually showed it to about a dozen homeless kids in our shelter here in The Philippines about 4 months ago. Most had never even heard of Ireland, so I was showing them a bit of our culture, geography and history via Youtube. Riverdance came up as a suggested video so I played it. They thought it was brilliant & were quick to try copy some of the dance moves....badly. When I showed them some more traditional Irish dancing, they though it was 'bakla pagsasayaw' (gay dancing). Hehe.
