    Hi all

So last week I lost my job, I got the forms to fill in for jobseekers benefit. I had my previous job for 2 and a half years.

What happened was I was working my aas off in the place doing 70hrs a week. Very hard work and only getting paid 11.20 a hour after 2 and half years in the job. It was welding painting etc I was doing..

I was in discussions with employer for few weeks bout more money then this 1 day last week I met him outside office door and asked him bout my rise. He kicked the door on way to office and told me to get in and sit down and then started banging table saying he's up to his neck regards money. I told him to calm down and he banged table again so I got up off my seat and he told me to leave if I want and quit. Obviously I walked out that is no way to be treated after the hard work I do in the place and was told by manager and himself previously I was best worker in place.

Now I went to sign on filled out form but reason I gave was there was no work for me and was laid off.. I couldn't explain what happened over counter as didn't want people to hear.

Now there asking me for p45 which I dont have but I have asked a friend to get it for me as I dont want to go back near the place.

Will social ring my place of work? I'm just worried in case he says I walked out and won't get paid for 9 weeks when in fact he scared me and told me to leave.

    Any info be appreciated thanks

I HIGHLY doubt they will ring you're place of work so I wouln't worry, they may wan't some payslips or some sort of proof you worked there thou, but seriously don't worry. It sounds like you we're in a horrible situation and that manager of yours should be reported as you didn't deserve that kind of treatment. I can't garentee they won't ask as when i was made redundant in January I did have to get some forms stamped by the company I worked for but that was purely due to the fact that I was on a casual payment.
