"From 25th March 2015 the fair usage cap for broadband usage on Home Unlimited, Home Essentials & Simply broadband will be increased to 1000 GB in each billable month. If the customer exceeds the fair usage allowance for data on more than 2 occasions in any calendar year then Vodafone may terminate or suspect the Customer’s service. Vodafone will proactively contact customers in advance of any suspension or termination."

So 1TB is now the fair usage policy with Vodafone

Think that's Unlimited, Home Essentials is 300GB

No it doesn't in the paragraph I highlighted - they have upped the limit to 1000GB on Home Unlimited, Home Essentials and Simply Broadband since 25 March 2015 - previously the limit was 300GB

This is the first I'm hearing of the 1TB limit, when I log in it says the usage is unlimited.

On the €45 plan which includes 100mins if that helps.

Ever since dial-up days, ISPs throughout the world have played rather loose with the word "unlimited". There usually is a limit somewhere in the small print. Though they don't always enforce it either, except maybe for people who are going way over all the time. They still should never have been allowed to sell "unlimited" services with limits.

They are allowed to say it is unlimited if the FUP affects less than 1% of their customers.

That's what Advertising Authority told me. Hence why it's changed from 300gb, they were in breach of advertising regs.

    It's good to know.

1000GB in fairness is pretty reasonable per month, even with 100% of your TV coming through your broadband, Steam games etc. 300GB was intolerable before.

They told us here a few months ago that the FUP was being dropped completely and that their would be no limit.

I contacted them both on here, by phone and email about it as I was starting a cloud storage sub for a few hard drives that I have, which would have been a few TBs and they told me because I was on a legacy policy that mine was truly unlimited with no cap. I even have it in writing from them on email.

Shortly afterwards they announced the 300GB cap was being dropped and their service was truly unlimited.

When i log into my account my usage shows as x amount of GB used against my allowance of "unlimited".

Anyone know how much BB is used by 100% Internet tv (on average) like the Android boxes?
Looking to set up a neighbour with it.

Too many variables. You'd need to get an idea of hours watched per week to calculate an estimate. Streaming in SD is significantly different to streaming 1080p.

As a very rough ballpark I have eastern European friends who stream tv from home, they're always in excess of 400GB/mo.
