    Hi All,

I just got my learner permit for the rigid truck and just want to know how hard it is to pass the driver CPC.

    thanks.

I'm not too familiar with the case study side of the CPC but the day courses are a piece of p**s.

    In your opinion.

An hour or two studying the theory at most is more than enough and the practical is a complete joke.

No one should be intimidated by it.

Thanks all but its the actually case study I am doing & not the main driver cpc I have it booked for 16th july I hear people saying its easy but these are professional truck drivers. Its 72 euro & I just wont to pass and & not pay again. I have the cd but this comes with 7 or 8 case studies. I know there is only 3 case studies on the day of the test but could this be 3 of any of the 8 on the CD?

    thanks again.

Honestly; you shouldn't worry too much about it. It's more important to actually focus on learning to drive the truck.

I'm not a truck driver and I don't work in an area that's in the slightest bit related, and other than one lesson over 20 years ago, I had never driven a truck when I took the CPC. There's loads of information here on boards.ie to help. Just do a search and you'll find analysis of the various case studies.

The questions they ask are very obvious. Learn a bit about tachos, time limits, weight, speed limits and read through the explanations that people have given on the various threads here and you'll be absolutely fine. In reality pretty much all the information will already have been covered in the MCQ test. The one thing you need is some information on hazardous loads; you'll find what you need on threads here.

The practical CPC is extremely easy. You simply do a walkaround of the truck; your instructor will tell you the few questions that they ask.

    Good luck!

    Hi All
I am doing my rigid truck test next week dose anyone have any idea the Q&A I will be asked before the practical test begins is it the same questions you get asked when doing your full license for the car?

    thanks.

Are you doing the practical CPC as well as the driving test?

OK. The Q&A in the office before the test was just some general questions on the Rules of the Road after which you're shown an A4 sheet with road signs and he points to a few which you have to identify.

Then at the truck I was asked to show where you would check the oil.

As to the CPC, I was asked to demonstrate a full walk around check of the truck and asked to show how to adjust the driving seat. I was then in the truck asked some questions in relation to the operation of the truck e.g. what are the various braking systems.

Incredibly easy and not something you should worry about at all provided you've read over some material. As you've already passed the theory and CPC (first part) just read over what you did for that and ask for instructor for his/her input.

    Good luck!
