I'm on the look out for a 08/09 vrs Octavia. Not many down south. Anywhere else other than gumtree & care zone for looking up north? Cheers

Usedcarsni.com might have some too, there's a couple of main Skoda dealers have them up there from time to time but it's normally newer stock of 2010 onwards.

Be careful with 08 and 09 ones. Make sure to get the newer CR engines, CEGA engine code.

Also UK ones were lower spec than Irish ones up to just before the facelift.

Thanks for that. is that with the newer gear driven oil pump?

It is but I don't think the oil pump was ever an issue on the Octavia. It's not going to have injector problems like the old ones and its a more pleasant unit day to day.
