I have a small two ring gas camping the same as this one
Portable double ring gas stove with grill

However, I want to cut down on heavy items.... currently the connection is a calor gas regulator.... connects to one of these yellow gas bottles (big and bulky)

Is there any way I can change the connection and use a small gas cannister?

I have the same question too!

Dual burner with grill for camping (no reguater included). The instructions mention butane gas + a low power regulater, but I'm not 100% sure what that means? Does it have to be the giant 11kg cylinder, or is there a more compact option with specific regulater?

Advice needed.

We aren't a nation of campers like say the French so much less choice here. You can find stockists of Campingaz here but they are few and far between its also a more expensive way of buying the gas.

Campingaz R904 and R907 would be suitable gas bottles.

For those bottles a suitable regulator would be this one.

Pricing may be misleading as you need to pay for the actual bottle for the first one plus the cost of the gas and subsequently just exchange your empty bottle when you buy a full one.

Thanks 4 that my3cents, but what about the yellow Calor 5kg butane?

Its the refillable mini version of the one most people use for BBQs here in Ireland.

That way I could use the regulator/hose from the BBQ.

Not totally sure what you mean by the Calor 5kg butane as thats what I consider the standard "small" gas bottle here in Ireland. With those you just use the standard low pressure clip on regulator that all the DIY, Hardware and Builders Merchants sell.

This is the regulator for the Calor 5kg butane bottles that use the clip on regulator http://www.woodiesdiy.com/Product/gas-fittings-jumbo-regulator/12930/6.0.5 . In the trade they sometime call them a jumbo regulator, this link http://www.woodiesdiy.com/Product/gas-fittings-jumbo-regulator-kit-incl-12m-hose-and-clips/12931/6.0.5 is the same thing with a bit of hose but includes the pressure information. Those regulators work fine with all virtually all camping double burners and grills. If the unit is marked for low pressure then again thats the correct regulator.

I think there's a hint in the name "patio gas" its propane and used specifically for patio heaters. Most people would be using butane as in http://shop.calorgas.ie/cylinders/5kg-calor-butane-gas-cylinder.html



But anyone wanting a smaller cylinder can use the smaller campingaz cylinders if they can get them.

I think you will find that most duel burner camping cookers can run on Propane or Butane using the correct regulator. While it can be used for patio heaters it also has OTHER uses .eg cooking.

In relation to camping gaz a 907 refill costs around €25 for 2.7kg aprox
