    Hey,

I'm on the look out for a set of carbon cyclocross wheels,40/50mm rims, need to suit disc brakes also and Shimano fitment, not in a panic so if you are thinking of selling a set let me know,

    Cheers zip,

if it's any use to you zippe - I race on a set of chinese carbon tubs, got them from an ebay.com shop - carbonzone - and have been quite happy with them. They were very reasonable, and having fallen apart yet after one season of road and then cx.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but if anyone is offloading a shimano compatible carbon tubular rim brake wheelset in decent nick I'd be interested.

Why don't you just open your own WTD: thread? It's poor form to hijack a thread only opened.

You'll get more hits on your own thread anyway.

cross takes it out for wheels, so Ive been buying cheap chinese carbon rims for the last few years... farsport.com.. If/when they crack its not the end of the world

they do a wider profile rim too for the 32mm tubulars..

For depth, I think 35mm is the way to go.. so much sprinting and accelerating that a 50mm rim is almost wasted, its what I see the pros on as well..

for holes, Id go 28 on front and back..

    My penny's worth there!!

In fairness, Zippe is looking for a disc wheelset, I am looking for a rim brake wheelset so no conflict and no upset intended, I deleted the post anyway.

By the way Zippe perhaps have a chat with Expert Cycles in Rathfarnham and see what they might build you, I got carbon rims built onto Hope pro 2 hubs for reasonable money 2 years ago and they are going strong.

    Hey,

No prob at all lads, I looked at the post too and first I was thinking why he did not start a new thread but then I seen he wants rim brakes so no bother, I'm nearly sorry I did not build a rim brake bike as I could have found more wheels 2nd hand for sale,

Thanks for all reply's and info, ill look into them, if last cyclocross season for me is anything to go by I'll prob get to do 2 or 3 races so I'd say there will be a Ridley X-Fire with ultegra Di2 for sale before to long :-)

    Cheers zip

I have been using carbon rims from Yishun for the last 2 seasons, still immaculate. Had them built up here, very happy with them.
