Named Driver Insurance Query

Hi all! Went digging and couldn't find an exact answer to this question.

If I add a named driver to my own policy (in this case my father) and if I (the policy holder) have an accident and a claim is made would my father need to report this to his insurance company when renewing and will it affect his premium ? Previous threads mentioned that his no claims will not be affected but nothing about adding this as a claim when taking out his own policy.

I'm also in the situation where I have named driving experience but the last time I was insured was just under 3 years ago meaning I cant use it to get a discount (as a 23 yo this means despite having 3 years claims free driving experience I cant get a quote under €2000). AFAIK there is no way around this but if anyone has any advice on the subject it would be greatly appreciated.

So you will be policy holder and your father will be named driver.
Then if you have an accident in your car, your father won't be affected at all. He won't need to declare anything to his own insurer (if he has his own car and own insurance) and his future premiums won't be affected at all.
    Only you will be affected.

However if it's opposite, and it's your father who will have an accident in your car so your policy will cover him as he is a named driver, then you both will be affected.
F.e. you will be affected as there was a claim on your policy. And your father will be affected as he is the one who had accident, and obviously he will have to declare it to his own insurer.
