I bought a second-hand set of chimney rods. Some of them are impossible to seperate. Any tips?

Try and wick some WD40 or a mix of white spiirt and light oil into the joints and allow it to soak in. If they are the older (better quality type) they should have brass couplings which should separate easily enough, but some of the newer ones are only plated and can be trickier.

You could also try using two vice grips.
