Naas Autos - Warranty Questions

    Hey;

    Today I put a deposit down on a 2011 VW Golk Bluemotion with Naas Autos.

    Everything seemed ok and managed to agree 6 months warranty.

    The reason why I am posting is I just checked the paper work for the deposit he gave me.

    It says 'engine & gearbox' 6 months or 6,000KM.

    This wasn't what we discussed and obviously need to go back to him asap and sort out.

    My question is - what should a dealer cover when giving a warranty?

    Tks

    He should cover whatever he says he should cover.

    Ultimately warranties are in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer which state that the goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of merchantable quality.

    The cheaper the dealer the less the warranty offers, and the harder it is to get them to stand over any faults. 6 month 6000km engine and gearbox is a very basic warranty, but there's no point asking for more, they probably wouldn't stand over it anyway. Buy the car not the dealer, make sure it's a good car and hopefully you won't need any.
