Is there a ticket similar to the mymulti one in Sydney or what is best ticket to buy for general travel around. Also do buses go to gold coast or sunshine coast.

Theres the "go card", works the same as londons oyster card. You put money on it and scan on and off public transport, works for buses, trains and citycat ferry. I would recommend it if you plan on using public transport a fair bit because it works out way cheaper. Trains go to gold and sunshine coasts regularly, im sure there are buses too but ive never looked into it, trains would be much quicker.

http://translink.com.au/ has all of the routes that will work on a GO Card.
