I have a 2005 citroen c4 and a few months ago I was getting the anti-pollution fault along with the engine managment light flashing. I took to the garage who told me it needed a new ECU. I got the work done and have had no problems with the car until today when the problem appeared again...

The engine management was on for about an hour today, I left the car for 20 mins as I went walking the problem has just disappeared.

    I read it's a common fault with the c4.

Is there any chance the problem will just stay away? :P

car driving perfect and no other problems with it ..

    Thanks

I'll have to get out the service history to see exactly what was replaced on mine but it was just a faulty sensor. I was getting the fault but it didn't effect how the car drove at all, and would also go away and come back intermittently.

Where are you based? I go to an independent Citroen specialist based near Rosslare and he has always been fairly priced and quick to solve any issues.

seems to have no effect on the car other than the engine managment light flashing.

I've read through many sites and the amount of things that it could be is endless. The problem has not come back so, for now, I might just do nothing and hope it doesnt come back..

    Is it a diesel?

I think if you bring the car for a good spin then it may clean the car. Keep the car at a certain revs. Have a look on google for it

A friend of mine had the same issue on a C4 and a spark plug change fixed it.
