Double glazing window hinges and parts

I want to get some replacement parts for my windows which are PVC double glazing. Where can I get these parts?

Some windows dont shut right and there are some components at the hinge which seem to be causing this.
In the fixed part of the hinge, there is what looks like an angle bracket component that another pointed part attached to the moving part (window frame) locates into to aid completely closing the windows.

The fixed part seems to be worn (but the pointed part may also be worn and worth replacing anyway) and looks like it can be replaced as it looks like its just slotted in there, but removal would require a partial removal of the hinge assembly.

Looking at the pictures, where can I get these parts

These are the components Im talking about,
the pointed component attached to the moving window frame engages into the L bracket/cup receiving part on the right for the room windows and on the ensuite it is at the top,
these dont seem to engage correctly on a few windows and cause draughts.
I can push/manipulate the room window to engage but the ensuite is not possible.

Can I get new parts? where?

Theres a company called Universal Products on Nangor Road, Dublin (universalproducts.ie) that will definitely be able to help....(I'm not connected with them....but they had the same parts as you're looking for, for my windows...which wouldn't close properly.

You'll have to replace the pair of hinges on each window sash. Those hinges cannot be repaired or even worth it for that matter.
You have to determine whether they are side opening or top opening hinges.
    Measure them. Bring photos also.
Call into your nearest window manufacturer and they should supply you. I manufacturer window for the last 18 years!

I copied the image files from another thread I had replied to but which was old, I can open the image files myself, can anyone else not open them? Thanks for letting me know, I'll try upload some new files, see if that helps.

OK, thanks or the reply, the hinges seem fine if not a bit sticky that causes the hinge side to slow down/over slightly outwards upon closing, which doesn't help the closing but really I thought the pointed metal bit on the hinge side of the window frame was just not engaging in the cup shaped L bracket which looks worn and like its simply placed I a slot in the part of the hinge fixed to the window frame,it looks easy to remove if the part can be located and replaceable but if it requires the entire hinge so be it.
Thanks for the replies, I wasn't sure about who to go to for this as I didn't know if a place that makes windows would supply these or even if I'd have to go somewhere that supplies specific parts which would usually be trade only.
Otherwise the windows are fine and there'd be no need to replace them, its just on the windows it occurs causes the window to be proud of the frame which allows cold draughts in during the winter so I want to get it sorted as new windows are not in any budget.

Thanks to all for the replies, I'll see if I can fix the photos, I'd inserted using the attach and browse/upload and when I could open them so assumed the where OK.

    Hey
I got handles for pvc windows from this company (DGS Ireland Unit 10 Westlink Ind Est). They also have the hinges your looking for.

I didnt, I thought they were too specific, so wanted to see an example in a store for comparison, probably not a bad idea, but Id my head set on a bricks and mortar place for the ability to compare. Still an option though.

I got a replacement from munster joinery for a hinge like the photo, also got some other bits. There is a number printed on the glass and they can use this.

Hope you don't mind me piggybacking on the thread but I have a related question. Do any window companies come out and 'service' windows (for want of a better term).
I've bought a house where the windows are your bog standard double glazing from the nineties. Like the OP some of the windows aren't closing flush and some of the rubber seals have come away. Definitely can't afford to replace the windows so was wondering can they be improved to work as well as they possibly can?

Before spending money clean the sliding rail and spray it with a silicon spray, do not use oil as this will cause long term issues. You can at a pinch use a spray polish that has added silicon something like Mr Sheen. When my son went to college last year the windows in his place were extremely difficult to open and close. Somebody had sprayed oil in the rails where the nylon piece slides along thinking it would be a good thing but over time it attracted dirt which caked up and caused sticking. Using a mild solvent and a toothbrush I gave them a thorough cleaning and wiped down with a soft cloth. A spray of silicon and never a problem after that.

Bassfish, you can buy the seals very reasonably on Ebay, also the hinges may have been strained if they are sticking try cleaning those as well, failing that I'm sure any independent glazier would be delighted to come and look at your windows.

Not at all, I could do with some seals myself for around the windows, other than that and some hinge problems the windows are in good condition so I just consider it necessary maintenance given the age.
