New show by Matt Nix (Burn Notice). Started on Thursday and it was a very strong pilot.

Jason O'Mara plays a doctor who by his actions to save a life, he gets caught up in a gang war.

There is an interview here with Jason O'Mara here which gives some insight (spoilers for the pilot) and what to expect in the season. I like the sound of this.
Is there an episode or scene that you’re particularly excited for people who watch the show to witness?

I wouldn’t say there’s any particular scene. There are loads of scenes, some of which I can’t even talk about because I’d be spoiling the story. But, I think we all felt that while we know that the first half of the season is strong, the second half plays like gangbusters. It’s almost like you earn – setting up all these situations, and done quite an exciting way as every episode has a sort of dramatic climax to it.

Once all of these worlds and all these characters are established, it’s like Matt and all of the writers just went crazy [Laughs]. All of this great stuff started to come out and every episode got better and better. When you hit episode four, or maybe five, there are a few things that happen that it’s like, “Boom, I’m on board. Let’s go.” I think people are going to have a hard time waiting a whole week for a new episode during that stage. I'm excited about those people who choose to watch this for the first half of the season and then they get to sit back and be rewarded.

    I'm already on board. :)

Jason O'Mara must hold the record of having shows cancelled in there first season.

Hard to invest in one of his shows knowing they won't last and the thing is most of them are very good.

USA are taking risks, they have Christian Slater on another show starting next week Mr Robot, which looks great,

but unless shows pull in under 2 million per episode on USA their safe enough bets for renewal,

I watched the first four episodes this morning.

There is a good story in there somewhere but something is missing it's very slow I think this will be another Jason O'Mara one season show.

Really enjoying this, watching episode 4 and the show is going from strength to strength. Much like Burn Notice this at first appears to be quite a light weight show masquerading as something more but it's slowly evolving into a damn good show, one which you feel could, given time turn into essential TV. I really want to see the show survive and play its story out but I'm not sure where it really can go, the initial set up puts something of a clock on the story and I don't want to watch them wrap everything up and end up with a drama about a mob style doctor. There's something of a Breaking Bad vibe here, a good man who ends up selling his soul and perhaps growing to like it.

Hoping that this is the summer of the nearly was, O'Mara and Slater both have new shows and on the basis of the pilots alone, they really deserve to go the distance.

I have to say I am really enjoying this now episodes 5 & 6 picked up pace story wise.

I still think it can only work as a one season show.

Brilliant stuff... I can't see this ending well for John, and I can see this going to a second season.
They won't finish this story in 3 more episodes.

Certainly living up to its title!

This is a fantastic show. Its got the grittyness needed and the writing from Matt Nix is superb. O'Mara has had some one season shows of late like Life on Mars, Terra Nova and Vegas but I hope that this is one of those shows that gets a decent run.

Things are good in the O'Mara household with Paige Turco continuing in The 100.

Excellent finale. Everything wrapped up in a neat little bow (great twist with
    the cop
), and a hook for season two if it gets approved.

I recognise the voice from the phone (the actor), but I can't place it. Any ideas?

    A great twist alright.

The ending was a very Burn Notice cliffhanger ending from Nix.
