Emergency Tax

I have been working since the 18th May after not working since 2013.

Rang tax office to let them now and was told since I didn't work the first few months of the year I had unused credits and wouldn't pay tax till around September (I only work 20 hours a week)

I am still on emergency tax 3 weeks later which seems to be the fault of the employer as opposed to the tax office. My question is when I get refunded will I be taxed on that?

No. What will happen is your employer will recalculate the tax you should have paid during the year and refund you any overpayment in your wages.

    Thanks for that.
