Long story cut short after a fight last year to get my sons btea awarded it was finally sorted in October, then he became seriously ill and was forced to quit college in December. His btea was suspended/stopped after he handed in a sick note and a letter saying he wasn't in college, and he claimed nothing at all. This week he went into find out where he stood returning to college and was told the rules are changing and he might not be eligible.

Is there any flexibility in btea decisions and will he be given an opportunity to explain what happened? The local office were very nice but said all they could do was process the forms for someone else to decide.
