Golf Rule (Hit Clubhouse)

Hi. Just want to query the rules for the following scenario.

Friend was playing last hole (Par 5) on course and taking second shot. Goes a club too long and ball hits path behind green bounces up and hits clubhouse (I think lands on the roof). Anyways he drops up in front of clubhouse and finishes the hole.

My question is is it ok to drop in front of clubhouse or should he have retaken his shot from where he took his 2nd shot?

I would have been checking for OB
replay from original position his 4th shot

Consult the card, it will/should outline if the clubhouse is OOB

Even if it wasn't OOB, it seems that it was a lost ball anyway. OP says "thinks it was on the roof".

I don't have the card anymore I'm afraid. So if it's a lost ball then it should have been dropped where he took his second shot?

Yip, unless these clubshouse was marked a hazard, you would have to find the ball.
I don't think there's a clubhouse in the world that is a hazard though... depends how many pints you have inside you I suppose.
