Leaking oil from tank

Hi, we noticed a lot of oil has escaped from out oil tank today, seems to be a lot of it on the grass and around the tank. I am not sure if it's coming from the pipe going into the tank or the tank itself. I am wondering what would people recommend. I reported it to the insurance emergency line but they won't ring back until tomorrow. I have isolated the valve for now.

Anyone any experience of this happening, and if so how did they get on with the clean up etc, was it expensive? And doesn insurance cover it.

To make matters worse one of the neighbours kicked off a bit this evening saying the smell is very strong!

Stressed to say the least. It's my parents home and they are not in a position to take it on so I will be trying to sort it out for them. They are quite old.

    Thanks

Ring local authority emergency line or even fire brigade for advice.

Stop the leak asap. Get an plumber / heating guy / expert in soon!! I've heard this is very expensive to clean up.
