Getting the best price for good lambs

We have texel and texel x lambs that are fairly well bred. Usually everything is sent to the factory through an agent apart from the best ewe lambs which are kept for replacements. They mostly get roughly E95-103 per head.

Is there any point of putting an ad on donedeal looking for E115 for butchers lambs? Or replacement stock?

Try it what have you to lose. Just be prepared for allot of time wasters though.

If i put the ad up and have no success can i take it down? And how many timewasters should you actually expect?

Yeah - you can remove it if you want.

How many time wasters - impossible to say. Turn off your phone at night tho, cos some lads will ring at all hours. More will ring for a chat - if you want to chat yourself, sure grand :)

It's only 3 euro, so might be worth a gamble. As you say - you can take it down again if you want...

I know that time wasters can be so bad that some farmers use a cheapie 'pay as you go' phone for donedeal.......at least you can eventually switch it off when you get pi...ed off of the time wasters, which you can't do if you're using your real no.
On the lamb price, butchers won't give you €115 if they can buy them at €105 in the mart, the replacement trade doesn't really start till august/sept

I don't bother much with done deal. I Found that time wasters can sometimes come in the form of sellers as well as buyers. What I mean by that is asking for over the odds money for sheep. Take the top price achieved at the mart, add a bit extra and suddenly all their sheep are worth the same, without them having to pay mart and transportation fees.
