Two big moves have happened in the last couple of years, Pat Kenny going to NT and D'Arcy going to RTE Radio 1 but what could be the next big move ? I think Ian Dempsey might return to RTE to replace Ronan Collins on R 1 in a couple of years time.

He gave D'Arcy an awful lot of stick for moving over, can't imagine he'd do the same.

He is almost 30 years doing a breakfast show, i can't imagine him wanting to do it much longer.

Here are a few possibilities for a few years hence, I think:

    1. Former Phantom presenter (up to 2010) Sinead Ni Mhordha moving from Radio Nova to Today FM. Why: because she is a "cool" rock chick/deejay on the way up.

    2. Matt Cooper from Today FM to Newstalk, when George Hook retires.

    3. Matt Dempsey from Dublin's Q102 to Radio Nova. Why? Because I think he would be comfortable playing or programming a diet of rock music. Previous radio experience includes alternative-leaning pirate Capitol Radio/Nitesky Radio (where he also played quite a bit of mainstream rock) and temporary licensed rock station 949 The Rock.

    4. Sean Moncrieff from Newstalk to Radio 1 - RTE would like him to bring his style of presentation there. A suitable package and agreement about programming, etc., could swing it.

    That's it for the moment.

I'd say Matt Cooper to Newstalk after George Hook retires is nearly a definite. Maybe Ian Dempsey will give up the breakfast slot and take over drivetime. Could see Ray Foley moving back over to Marconi House at that stage if that happens, to take over breakfast.

I can't see any shock moves in the next while really. If anyone replaces Ronan Collins, let it be Tubs, maybe as a replacement for John Murray too, and send him back to the serious stuff/The Business. Also Colm Hayes to move to a long happy retirement please.
