Motor tax exempt - renewal question

    Hi,

My G/F's car is exempt from motor tax as it's a disabled car. This is the 1st time renewing motor tax since she's been exempt.

Do you know if you have to go into the motor tax office in person to renew it?

    Can we
A: Do it over the phone / online / via post ?
B: If none of the above can a different person (i.e. me) go into the office and renew on her behalf ? --- or does it need to be her in person doing it ?

I tried to ring them.. but they must have set the world record for longest and most useless voice message/phone system ever..

    thanks.

do you still have to Tax it (for Free ????) if not just ignore it .

Going in in person is probably you only option, cause email or phone are usually a dead end in any tax office for non standard transactions

Yes same as any emergency vehicles they still carry a tax disc but they are excempt
I'm in a voluntary ambulance organisation and As far as I am aware our tax is done online the vehicles are registered as exempt so when you log in you just go about the motions and at payment it comes up as zero and is processed now I don't look after it but I'm nearly sure that's what the person who does says how they do it
