    Hi all

    Need a bit of guidance

I've been signed off sick my my GP yesterday until the 1st July

I'm still working but am due to finish up work on the 26th june - had already handed in notice before falling sick - my company pays me for sick leave

Question: do I open a claim with the social welfare today to do I wait until the 29th when I am out of work and not getting paid by my company?

If I open a claim today how does that affect my last weeks pay?

    Thanks

    Poppy

Usually if you get paid from work, you get paid as usual and you send the cheque to your employer or get the benefit paid directly to your employer. You are not paid for the first 6 days.
