In the market for a new saddle. Have bought a couple online in the past but still having perineal issues on long cycles so looking to get some proper advice and fit. Also looking for somewhere that will let me swap the saddle I buy if it doesn't work out after a few trial rides.

Anyone any particularly good experiences with cycle shops in Dublin. Currently thinking cycle ways as have heard good things about their customer service, but would appreciate other options.

I know Cycleways on Parnell Street do the Sit Bone Measurement test. Just make sure that you are in cycling shorts to get the most accurate reading. I think if you buy a saddle with them and are not happy even after using it for a liitle while they will change it to sonething more suitable.

Afaik, Wheelworx will let you trial a saddle before you buy it. They have samples in the shop which you can borrow as long as you leave a deposit.

Try the Specialized Toupe when you're in Cycleways.
I've been through a lot of saddles and it's the "least uncomfortable" saddle I've ever had.

I have had issues with previous saddles (Selle Italia (with cutout), Fizik Antares). I now use an ISM Adamo Attack.

Stupid looking thing but it redistributes the pressure away from your softer spots in a manner that keeps you in the saddle longer and more comfortably in an aero position (be it in the drops or on aero bars). Expensive but worthwhile investment.

You get a 30 day trial with the Specialized saddles - I tried a couple of different ones.

Heard good things about the toupe alright. When o wen to check it out on cycle ways website though it said it was 250 quid, which seems a ludicrous price for a saddle.

Although, having said that, I'd gladly spend a few bob IF I know that I'm getting a saddle that will be comfortable on long rides. The worst possible outcome is spending the money on a nice saddle only to find after a few weeks that its really not working for me.

There are different versions, that's probably the dearest.
    Here's one in Hollingsworth's for 39 quid.
Ritchies in Swords have them as well.
