recommendations on a 1.4 or 1.6 2011-2012 car

    I drive about 45-55km each day, mon-fri and sometimes a longer spin at weekends.

    Should I consider diesel or stick to petrol?
    Currently have a '05 Mazda3 HB petrol
    I have a budget of about 13,500/14
    I have 2011 or maybe 2012 in mind

    I was also thinking of ford focus 1.6 diesel (newer model)

    If Petrol is a better option for me, are there any other 1.4 or 1.6 petrol I should consider?
    economical and hatchback (though I would consider a saloon)

    I dont know too much about makes such as Kia, renault, hyundai etc.
    relaiability? any to avoid?

    Any advice appreciated
