birds nest fell!!

Hi, I don't know anything about birds I'm afraid so please bear with me!
A group of nests have been built on the front of my house in recent weeks, one was directly above a window which was lovely and we have enjoyed watching them flying in and out! I've done some research and I think they could be house martin's (apologies if that's not incorrect)

This morning we discovered one of the nests had fallen off and was smashed everywhere, the poor birds are sitting on the tiny bit left which is only about an inch wide.
The other nests are fine though!

Is there anything we could do like put a box on the windowsill for them? It's probably really stupid but I don't want them to leave!!!

Thanks for your reply, so would you suggest I buy one of those and put it in the same place?

There's nests quite close on either side, maybe a meter or so.

Happened to us too a few years ago. Unfortunately there's little you can or should do due to the proximity of the rest of the small colony for fear of disturbing them more. The pair might try to build again there or elsewhere and try for a second late brood. Any chicks haven't a hope.:( They also might perhaps revert to assisting with feeding present hatchlings in the rest of the colony. I believe the first brood some times but not often, help food gathering for subsequent ones.

If it's any consolation, I reckon we have 4 hatched about 10 days ago and they are making plenty of noise and dumping plenty of 'stuff' for me to sweep up. Love martins.

Aww I can't wait till the ones in the other nests hatch! I hope it's soon!

I would order a nest or two and put them up with one in the exact spot as the one that fell
