Kayfun V4 Trouble

I thought I was getting quite good and rebuilding my Tobeco Kayfun V4 and then along comes today .

Took it apart , gave it a good clean and then put in a new coil , gave it a quick dry burn test and out it came at 1.4 , perfect , throw in some cotton , juice it up and test again , 1.4 . Put on the cowl/shroud ( no idea what the technical term is for this but it's the part that goes over the coil build before you screw the tank back on ) and tried it again and got "check atomiser" . At this point I assumed it was one of the legs was sticking out a bit beyond a screw and touching the cowl but I could see it . Long story short , ended up scrapping that build and starting again . The exact same thing happened the second time . I did notice that when I unscrewed the cowl a bit that it worked and being a lazy sob I just did that and screwed the tank back on and am vaping away .

BUT .............. am I missing something obvious ?

I found with the foggers that sometimes after a built and firing them to check they were burning right was to tighten the screws a bit again, I think the heat affect the wire a bit so re-tightening keeps a good connection

    Something is shorting for sure.
Your build is either touching the sides or the 'ceiling' of the 'coil chamber'.
